Introducing Our Artistic Director
Maika’i Nash, a gifted musician hailing from Kailua, Oahu, embarked on his musical odyssey by mastering the piano under the tutelage of Ernest Chang. Following his education at UH Manoa, Mr. Nash embarked on musical escapades across the globe. Beyond his virtuosity on the piano, he lent his talents to the Metropolitan Opera and played a pivotal role in founding Opera5, a boutique opera company in Toronto.
Mr. Nash’s versatility extends to coaching, conducting, and enthralling performances, solidifying his reputation as a distinguished concert pianist, vocal authority, and musical trailblazer on an international scale. From the Hawaii International Music Festival in Pahala to recent projects with the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival in Waimea, Mr. Nash’s musical prowess encompasses a wide spectrum, encompassing roles from the backstage to nurturing the next generation of music enthusiasts.
With his multifaceted skills in administration, music direction, programming, and music education, Mr. Nash is poised to elevate the Hilo Community Chorus to new heights with his transformative artistry.
